A man has died after falling from a balcony in Melbourne’s CBD, police say.

A spokeswoman for the Victoria Police Service said it was not known if the man was the person who died.

The balcony was part of Balconry Safety, an area popular with nightlife enthusiasts, and is on a busy road to Melbourne’s central CBD.

Police were not investigating the cause of the death.
